Men's Tennis to Play School-Record 19 Home Matches

The fall season begins in mid-september
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee's men's tennis head coach Jimmy Borendame announced the details of the 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday. The slate includes a school-record 19 spring home matches.
"I am extremely excited to be hosting the first Middle Tennessee home matches in the Adams Tennis Complex," Borendame said. "We are really looking forward to having an indoor home near campus to host exciting upcoming opponents such as Vanderbilt, Louisville, Columbia and many more.
"We are also putting together a great marketing plan to encourage our Blue Raider fans come out to our matches."
The 2015 fall portion begins at home with the Wally Tidwell Pro-Am on Sept. 18-19 and the Dale Short Shootout Sept. 25-27.
The Blue Raiders will then hit the road for the Georgia Tech Invitational (Sept. 25-27), Steve Baras Invitational at UTC (Oct. 2-3), two ITA tournaments (Oct. 3-11 and Oct. 15-19), the Louisville Invitational (Oct. 30 – Nov. 1) and the Vanderbilt Scramble (Nov. 6-8). The Crimson Tide Four in the Fall on Nov. 13-15 will be the final event of the year for the Blue Raiders.
The Adams Tennis Complex will be the host for MT's first four matches of the 2016 season. Opponents of the Blue Raiders at the ATC in January will include UTC to open up the season on Jan. 16, Vanderbilt on Jan. 18 and a double-header with Xavier and Murray State on Jan. 23.
MT will then travel to George Washington on Jan. 28 and Penn on Jan. 30.
The Blue Raiders will also host all of their February matches in the ATC. The lineup features seen matches including Louisville (Feb. 3), Iowa (Feb. 14) and Columbia (Feb. 27), among others.
MT will be spending spring break in Florida, playing Miami (FL) on March 8 and Florida Atlantic on March 11 as their only road matches in the month.
Outdoor play in the Bouldin Tennis Center begins when the Blue Raiders return home to face College of Charleston (Mar. 19), followed by the MT Shootout (Mar. 25).
The Blue Raiders also have a busy April, playing host to Memphis (April 1) and VCU (April 3) before taking their last regular season road trips to ETSU (April 6) and UTSA (April 9).
Regular season play will conclude at home with matches against Austin Peay (April 12) and UCF (April 17).
The 2016 Conference USA Tournament will be in Houston, Texas on April 22-24.
