Women's Golf takes 11th at Cardinal Cup

Gotcher lands Top 20 spot
Final Results
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Middle Tennessee was able to climb a spot back up the leaderboard on the final day of the Cardinal Cup, finishing the three-day event in 11th place at 69-over par (318-307-308=933).
The Blue Raiders were just two strokes removed from the Top 10 with Columbia finishing one spot ahead at 67-over par.
Senior Samantha Gotcher finished with a 54-hole total of 11-over par (80-73-74=227), notching her second Top 20 finish of the fall placing tied for 18th.
Hanley Long placed tied for 21st in the field of 93 and was just two strokes behind Gotcher at 13-over par (79-75-75=229).
Jenna Burris remained in the Top 40 on the final day of the event, tying for 40th at 17-over par (77-79-77=233).
Lacie York and Katherine Holmes finished the tournament with just a stroke separating the pair. York carded a three-round total of 30-over (82-82-82=246) while Holmes finished at 31-over (85-80-82=247).
Middle was among the best teams in the field in Par 5 scoring, finishing fourth in the field at 6-over par on the Par 5 holes. Burris (-2) and Gotcher (-1) each finished in the Top 11 individuals in the field in Par 5 scoring.
The Cardinal Cup marks the end of the fall season for the Blue Raiders, who will return to action in the spring with the Florida State Match-Up on Feb. 10-12 at Seminole Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
