Raiders Come Up Short During Final Home Match

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team battled, but fell to the FIU Panthers in straight-sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-19) on Thursday evening in the Alumni Memorial Gym.
In its final home match of the season, the Blue Raiders honored lone senior Sloan Sullivan for her dedication and commitment to the Middle Tennessee volleyball program. Sullivan tallied five digs and an assist during her final outing on the Blue Raider court.
Notable
Sophomore Dora Peonia paced the Blue Raider offense inking 15 kills on the evening to record a .344 hitting percentage. Peonia also racked up seven digs and an ace over the Panthers.
Similarly, junior duo Bailey Mason (9) and Makila York (8) posted for a combined 17-kills. Mason also added eight digs, three service aces and an assist during her three set outing.
From her libero position, sophomore Brienna Tankesley recorded 10 digs to average 3.33 digs per set. The Landisville, Pa. native also recorded two assists and a service ace.
Also recording kills for the Blue Raiders included redshirt-sophomore Alyssa Mathis (4) and sophomore Taylor Hammill (2).
Overall, the FIU Panthers remained solid on their defense posting a +6 (8-2) edge in digs over the Blue Raiders.
