MT Baseball Wraps Up Fall World Series

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.–The Blue Raiders wrapped up the Fall World Series with the White Team winning the series 2-1.
GAME ONE
Both teams jumped out to a quick start but it was the White team that was able sustain the scoring throughout the game, winning 8-4 in seven innings. Newcomers Nick Carnevale and Tanner Parker combined for five hits and each drove in two runs to lead the White Team. Senior Blake Benefield also drove in two runs on three hits. Aaron Antonini showed off his power in game one, belting two home runs to drive in all four of the Blue team's runs. Senior Darien Prewett also put together a nice day offensively, reaching base three times, stealing three bases and scoring a run.
GAME TWO
The White team came out swinging in day two of the Fall World Series, defeating the Blue Team 8-2 in seven innings. Jake Hagenow led the White team offensively, going 3-for-4 and driving in two runs. Tanner Parker once again had a big day, picking up two RBIs and two stolen bases. For the Blue Team, Darrell Freeman Jr. and Aaron Antonini both had two hits. Scheldon Paulk was lights out for the White team, giving up no hits in three innings, striking out three batters, and securing the victory. Carter Bair started the game for the White team, going four innings with no earned runs given up.
GAME THREE
The Blue Team scored multiple runs in the middle three innings to down the White Team 8-3 in the finale of the Fall World Series. Peyton Wigginton had the best day on the mound, going four shutout innings and allowing just two hits. For the White Team, David Zoz saw similar success before getting tagged for two runs in the fourth inning. Darien Prewett and Myles Christian did plenty of damage at the top of the order for the Blue Team, combining for seven hits and four runs. Christian was a double short of the cycle. For the White Team, Nick Carnevale and Peter Brown led the way with two hits each.
