Round 2 Results
WEST POINT, Miss. – Although they were unable to make a significant move up the leaderboard on day two of the Magnolia Invitational, the Blue Raider women's golf team showed improvement in the second round at Old Waverly by shaving nine strokes from the round one scorecard with an 11-over par 299.
Middle Tennessee stands in 13th place after 36 holes, five strokes ahead of Conference USA foe Southern Miss, and are only six stokes away from a jump up the leaderboard to ninth place should the team continue its improvement into the final day.
The bounce-back second round was led by senior Hanley Long, who fired an even par 72 Monday to jump 13 spots on the individual leaderboard after battling a tough first round.
Sophomore Sophie Burks carded a 1-over 73 in round two and has a team-best mark of 6-over (77-73=150) for the Invitational through 36 holes.
Middle Tennessee will attempt to make their move on Tuesday during the final round at Old Waverly with play beginning with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

QUOTABLES
"Hanley bounced back very well today and Sophie posted a good score for us as well. We had it going on the first few holes after we made the turn and then gave a few back with a couple of high numbers. We had much better attitudes today and it showed in our scores, now we have one more day to look forward to so we need to come out and battle through what looks like will be some rain and colder temperatures. We will give it everything we have and grind it out to the end tomorrow." 0 Head Coach Chris Adams
