Four Raiders Named to All-Academic Teams

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA Soccer All-Academic honorees were announced by the league office Monday with four Blue Raiders appearing on the two teams.
Peyton DePriest and Amber Hoot were named to the First Team while Sydney Navarro and Carolin Engelhard were named to the Second Team.
"I'm really proud of Amber, Peyton, Sydney and Carolin for winning this award," said Head Coach Aston Rhoden. "All had strong performances on the field this season and it's good to see their work ethic and commitment to their sport carry over to their studies."
Hoot is a Biochemistry major that currently holds a 4.0 GPA. This is her second appearance on the C-USA All-Academic First Team, having been named in 2017. She has played in 17 matches this season and recorded a goal and three assists.
DePriest is an Exercise Science major with a 3.916 GPA. As a freshman in 2017, she was a two time MTSU Dean's List honoree and C-USA Academic Medal Winner in addition to being named C-USA Freshman of the Year on the soccer field. This season she has connected for 11 goals in 12 games, along with registering three assists.
Navarro is a Liberal Studies major with a 3.58 GPA. The senior was a 2017 Scholar All-Region Third Team selection. The Claremont, Calif. native earned her first C-USA Defensive Player of the Week award this season and has picked up two goals on the year.
Engelhard is a Political Science major with a 3.87 GPA. She has started every game since making her way to Middle Tennessee from Germany and was also a C-USA Academic Medal Winner in 2017. This season, from the midfield, she has one goal and one assist to her credit.
