Louisville natives Bebelaar and Edlin sign NLIs
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Blue Raider women's golf added a pair of Kentucky prep standouts Wednesday as Taylor Edlin and Molly Bebelaar each signed national letters of intent to continue their golf careers in Murfreesboro.
Edlin, who played at Sacred Heart Academy for former Blue Raider assistant Mackenzie Moir, earned KGCA First Team All-State and Region 5 Player of the Year honors after average 74.0 strokes per round as a senior. She went undefeated throughout the 2016 and 2017 high school golf campaigns.
The Louisville native matched her career low round of 68 in junior golf play this year and highlighted her season with a Top 5 finish in the Kentucky Junior Open and a tie for eighth in the Kentucky Women's Open. She also qualified for the Girls Junior PGA Championship in 2017 and 2018.
"We are thrilled to welcome Taylor to the Blue Raider family," head coach Chris Adams said. "She is a tremendous talent with a strong competitive side that will continue to elevate our program. I know she will make an impact when she arrives."
Bebelaar, a South Oldham High School product, turned in a 74.7 stroke average in her senior season to earn KHSAA First Team All-State honors. She was also a four-time Louisville Courier Journal All-Area Golf Team honoree and averaged 75.9 strokes per round in her final season of junior golf.
Also a native of Louisville, Bebelaar shot a career low round of 68 in the opening round of the Kentucky Junior Amateur where she finished third and was also a semifinalist in the Kentucky Women's Amateur. She also qualified for the Women's USGA Four-Ball Championship and the Big I National Championship.
"We are also very excited to welcome Molly to out True Blue family," Adams stated. "She is a tireless worker and the daughter of a golf professional, and I know her work ethic will help her make a successful transition to collegiate golf."
The Kentucky duo will arrive at Middle Tennessee in August and join current sophomores Sophie Burks, Caroline Caudill and Savannah Quick as well as current freshmen Catherine Caudill and Madison Smith.
"Their personalities are both a great fit to a team that has tremendous chemistry and that will help us to continue to move towards more championships," Adams added.
