Women's Tennis to Play Final Fall Matches This Weekend

Middle Tennessee Women's Tennis will play in their final fall competitions this weekend at the Florida State All Conference Showdown at Florida State University. The Blue Raiders will compete with the entire team for the third time this fall season and fans can get live updates on Twitter (@MT_WomensTennis).

Tournament History
The Blue Raiders competed in the Showdown last season and the team went a combined 9-3 singles record over the weekend. Luisa Zirilli won three matches in singles play to claim her bracket's championship while Marta Peris Herrero advanced to her bracket's championship before falling in the final match.
Players to watch
Lidia Burrows – Burrows fared the best in a tough the June Stewart Invitational, winning her first match and losing two tiebreakers in a loss in her second.
Marta Peris Herrero - The junior has only competed in two events this fall, but last fall posted an impressive 9-6 record, including two wins in last year's Showdown at FSU.
Coach's Comments
"We are excited about this last tournament of the fall," said Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall. "So far we have performed well and showed gradual improvements on the court. I believe we will produce positive results this weekend building momentum for our spring season."
