MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Lyft has announced a partnership with Middle Tennessee athletics to offer free rides home this fall, following MTSU's authorization to become one of two universities in Tennessee to approve alcohol sales at its athletics events.
The partnership will provide Lyft riders with designated drop-off and pick-up location on the curb of Champions Way to the right of Gate 3 at Floyd Stadium, on MTSU football game days. The partnership is a part of the drink responsible programming developed for the implantation of the sale of alcohol at MTSU's athletics events.
Blue Raider fans can catch a free Lyft ride home (up to $10 off) using the code BLUERAIDERS98 for the 9/8 game, and look for up to the first $1,000 in free rides for each subsequent home game to be released with a unique code each game. The partnership is the first of its kind, after the Tennessee General Assembly authorized MTSU and Tennessee State University this year to sell alcohol at sporting events. They are the first universities in Tennessee to receive the authorization.
"We heard from our fans that they wanted this opportunity, so we also wanted to provide the opportunity to get a smart ride home with Lyft, this is a great way that our fans and patrons can enjoy the Blue Raiders and return to their destinations safely" said Chris Massaro, MT Director of Athletics.
"Together, Lyft and Middle Tennessee are helping fans make responsible choices after cheering their Blue Raiders to victory," said Sam Nadler, general manager of Lyft Tennessee.
