1/7/2019 10:00:00 AM | BRAA
MURFREESBORO - Before UAB and MTSU take to the basketball hardwood for a back-to-back home and home series on January 30 and February 2, the rival athletic departments will compete for donor support in the Blazers vs. Blue Raiders Donor Challenge. The fans, alumni, and friends of these two passionate schools will have the chance to show their dedication to these schools by becoming the newest donors to the respective athletic departments.
The school who secures the most NEW donors with a minimum gift of $50 between 9:00 AM, January 14, 2019 and 5:00 PM, January 30, 2019 will be declared the winner. A new donor is considered anyone who has not given in the previous year who gives a donation to any athletic initiative. Gifts secured in person, online, by phone, or via mail will all be counted and aid your school towards becoming the premier athletic department in Conference USA.
"We want to be the best at everything that we do. Competition is at the heart of both the UAB and MTSU Athletic Departments. This challenge will help both departments continue to grow and ultimately be more competitive in competition and the classroom," stated UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram.
"We have had some great battles with UAB the past few years in competition in all of our sports. I am excited to see how the fan bases step up to this unique competition to help our respective institutions grow in support of our student-athletes. Back to back basketball games provide us with a unique opportunity for this innovative challenge," said MTSU Director of Athletics Chris Massaro.
UAB and MTSU will launch the donor challenge and provide regular updates to their respective fan bases. Mark your calendar and make your gift starting on January 14 to help your school win on and off the court!
