Lady Raiders To Host Wildcats Tomorrow

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team returns to Murfreesboro after winning their season opener against ECU, 68-66. The Lady Raiders will face #13 Kentucky in their home opener tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the historic Murphy Center.

About the Lady Raiders

While the Lady Raiders' roster is full of fresh faces it also hold two McDonalds All-Americans in Anastasia Hayes and Rellah Boothe.
Last season's Freshman of the Year Taylor Sutton is shooting 40 percent from three early in the 2019-20 season.
The most senior member of the Lady Raiders Charity Savage leads the team in rebounds after collecting 13 in their last matchup against ECU.

Scouting the Wildcats

Kentucky defeated Mt. Saint Mary's 67-44 in their last game of the season in Lexington.
Kentucky comes into Murphy Center ranked 13 in the latest AP poll.
The Wildcats are led on the hard wood by Rhyne Howard. Howard has been named to the John R. Wooden Award top 30, the Citizen Naismith Trophy top 50, and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Wade Watch List, putting her on all three of major national player of the year preseason watch lists.

All-Time vs. Kentucky

The Wildcats lead the series with the Lady Raiders 15-5.
The last time the Lady Raiders defeated Kentucky was Dec. 28, 2017 by a score of 62-57.
MT and Kentucky have met every year dating back to 2008.
The Lady Raiders are 4-5 in the Murphy Center against Kentucky.

Last Time Out

In their last game the Lady Raiders defeated the Pirates of East Carolina 68-66. MT fended off a late ECU run to escape Greenville with a victory.
The Lady Raiders were led by Charity Savage who recorded career highs with 16 points, 13 rebounds, in 35 minutes.
Freshman Courtney Whitson made her Lady Raider debut by notching 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
Murfreesboro native Anastasia Hayes also made her first appearance in the blue and white by recording 13 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.

Next Time Out

After Kentucky the Lady Raiders will travel to New Orleans, La. to face Tulane on Nov. 14 at 7:00 PM.
The Lady Raiders will return home on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 PM to take on instate rival Tennessee Tech.
