Lady Raiders To Host Wildcats Tomorrow

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team returns to Murfreesboro after winning their season opener against ECU, 68-66. The Lady Raiders will face #13 Kentucky in their home opener tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the historic Murphy Center.

- The Wildcats are led on the hard wood by Rhyne Howard. Howard has been named to the John R. Wooden Award top 30, the Citizen Naismith Trophy top 50, and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Wade Watch List, putting her on all three of major national player of the year preseason watch lists.
- The Wildcats lead the series with the Lady Raiders 15-5.
- The last time the Lady Raiders defeated Kentucky was Dec. 28, 2017 by a score of 62-57.
- MT and Kentucky have met every year dating back to 2008.

- In their last game the Lady Raiders defeated the Pirates of East Carolina 68-66. MT fended off a late ECU run to escape Greenville with a victory.

- Freshman Courtney Whitson made her Lady Raider debut by notching 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
- Murfreesboro native Anastasia Hayes also made her first appearance in the blue and white by recording 13 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
- After Kentucky the Lady Raiders will travel to New Orleans, La. to face Tulane on Nov. 14 at 7:00 PM.
- The Lady Raiders will return home on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 PM to take on instate rival Tennessee Tech.
