MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – Middle Tennessee head men's tennis coach Jimmy Borendame announced the addition of freshman Patrick Kristensen to the 2020 spring roster on Thursday.
"Patrick is a great last minute addition to the team," Borendame said. "Adding a 20-year old freshman with his extensive ITF experience, he should complement an already very strong team. He has a very complete all-around game and I expect him to improve throughout the spring."
Kristensen will join the team in January.
Patrick "Pat" Kristensen comes to Middle Tennessee from Aarhus, Denmark and graduated from Københavns VUC. Most recently ranked as high as #187 in the International Tennis Federation World Junior rankings, he also was ranked as high as 46th in the Tennis Europe Rankings.
Kristensen won four Danish Singles National Championships and was chosen to play for the Danish National Team at the European Championships multiple times.
Kristensen enters a Middle Tennessee program that recently won the Conference USA championship and advanced to the NCAA Regional in 2019. He joins an experienced group as the Blue Raiders return seven letterwinners and newcomers Brad Buckland and Will Hann for the 2020 spring season.
The Blue Raiders open the spring schedule with the Coach LaLance Invite hosting Memphis, Vanderbilt and Belmont from January 10-12 at Adams Tennis Complex.
