Bonham named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week

DALLAS. TX – Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders forward MacKenzie Bonham broke onto the scene in a loud way on Sunday in a win over UTSA, and on Monday he was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, per a release from league officials.
In her first career start, Bonham scored her first career goal and then some, rattling off a hat trick in the Blue Raiders' 4-3 conference opener winner against UTSA.
The freshman knotted up the score in the 58th minute at 2-2. Then, when Middle Tennessee found themselves down 3-2 with under a minute in regulation, Bonham scored off a free kick to send the match to overtime.
The Raiders countered the last corner and worked the ball across the field. Hannah Tillett found MacKenzie Bonham in space on the left side and she fired a tremendous shot that hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced in for the golden goal win.
Bonham is the 22nd Blue Raider to punch in three goals in a single game with the last occurance being current teammate Peyton DePriest vs UTEP (09/30/18).
Bonham and the Blue Raiders will look to go to 2-0 in Conference USA on Thursday when they host Rice, for their sixth meeting with the Owls. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. kickoff and will be aired on ESPN+.
