Blue Raiders Fall at UNT, 3-0

DENTON, Texas – Middle Tennessee fell at the hands of North Texas Sunday night by a score of 3-0. The Blue Raiders made a strong effort in the final 15 minutes, but the two quick second half goals but the Mean Green held.
"This was a tough road loss for us," said head coach Aston Rhoden. "I thought we play well in the second half but the two goal advantage they had proved to be too much for us to overcome. We will review our mistakes and get ready for UTEP next Sunday."
As soon as the first half started, UNT sought to catch the Raiders off guard and found Beklee Peters on the top of the box where she found the back of the net. In the 44th minute, UNT increased the lead to 2-0.
The Blue Raiders could not get anything going in the first half, UNT defense didn't allow a MT shot until the second half.
Closest opportunity for the Blue Raiders came off a corner where Maddi Falter corralled the first touch and launched a shot inside the box on the left hand side. UNT keeper Kelsey Brann stopped the Raider chance.

Middle Tennessee returns home for a match up against UTEP at Dean Hayes Soccer Stadium next Sunday. First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
