Second such honor for sophomore guard
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Anastasia Hayes has been named co-Player of the Week in Conference USA after turning in a historic performance on the hardwood in Middle Tennessee's victory at Marshall last Thursday.
Hayes became the first Lady Raider guard to achieve a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in Middle Tennessee's 75-55 win. It was just the second triple-double in program history.
The C-USA Player of the Week honor is Hayes' second of the season, making her the only player in the league to earn the citation multiple times.
The sophomore guard had a stellar week overall in games at Marshall and WKU, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists as the Lady Raiders split the road trip.
The 11 rebounds and 10 assists at Marshall ere a career-high for Hayes, who has scored double figures in every game as a Lady Raider.
Hayes leads C-USA in assists per game (4.8) and is third in scoring (16.9).
Conference USA Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week are chosen by a vote of the league's 14 communications directors. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.
