Dear Blue Raider Fans,
As we prepare for our homecoming game vs. Western Kentucky this Saturday at 4 p.m., I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your cooperation with the new COVID-19 protocols. Our opener vs. Troy was a model of cooperation and compliance of our fans doing their best to provide the safest environment so we can continue to play and watch football at Floyd Stadium.
It was no small accomplishment for our fans and staff to be the first collegiate or pro sporting event in Middle Tennessee to have fans at our games. The fact that we can continue to do it this week is a testament to you and your willingness to adapt to the new guidelines and procedures. On behalf of the entire department, we offer our sincere gratitude.
While we all wish we could return to normal, that is simply not possible in the foreseeable future. It is necessary for us to continue to put in place our requirements regarding the pandemic. I just want to remind you of a few of our major restrictions/requirements for Saturday's game.
Tailgating is still not allowed. We all cannot wait to see all the grills and tremendous tailgates that happen on campus, but we can't afford the risk of the close contact. Thank you for your cooperation.
Masks are still required. We ask that you wear your mask from the parking lot to the stadium and inside the stadium as well. Fans can take down the masks when eating or drinking. We appreciate your help with this.
Social distancing is still required. All the seats have been assigned to accommodate our social distancing, and we ask that you sit in your assigned seat.
Please honor social distance markers at the concession stands, elevators and at the gate entry and exits. Your cooperation here is critical as we try to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, and we need your help to self-police these areas to prevent clustering. Remember to stay at least 6 feet apart from others.
Our last reminder is to have fun. We are excited that we can host fans for a second game. We should have perfect football weather, and we are playing our rival. Let us try to create as big of a home field advantage as possible to help the football team secure a victory against our rivals from Western Kentucky.
Thanks again for all your cooperation.
