This week's honorees are Ulbrich, Paxton Brooks, Tennessee; Lou Hedley, Miami; and Zach Von Rosenburg, LSU.
Ulbrich is the only candidate whose efforts were instrumental in a team victory as Middle Tennessee turned back FIU, 31-28, in Miami.
Ulbrich came up big for the Blue Raiders in the fourth quarter with the team trailing 28-24. He had three consecutive tremendous efforts, two of which established career highs, to give the Blue Raiders a chance for the comeback.
Ulbrich had a 66-yarder, 43-yarder and 75-yarder in succession. Two of his three punts pinned FIU inside their 10 and flipped the field.
His first effort during the series came from the MT 26, and he unloaded a booming 66-yard effort to the FIU 8. It set a new career high for Ulbrich, whose previous best was 61. The great special teams effort was magnified after the defense forced a three-and-out.
Ulbrich's next punt was a for 43 yards and was downed at the FIU 5. His third punt of the decisive quarter was the fifth longest in program history, a 75-yarder that proved to flip the field once again. The defense forced another three-and-out to set up the offense for its game-winning drive.
Ulbrich averaged 50 yards on his seven punts.
