Raiders Win Two Singles and One Doubles Matches on Friday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's tennis won three matches against Chattanooga on the first day of the UTC Fall Invite on Friday.

The Raiders faced-off against the Mocs for the second time this season. In doubles, the Raiders won one match against the Mocs. Zani Barnard and Lidia Burrows defeated Caroline Gibbens and Emma Van Hee by a score of 6-2 to start the day off for the Raiders.

In singles, the Raiders garnered one straight-set win and one three-set win. Muskan Gupta defeated Caroline Gibbens, 6-3, 6-1, to improve to 4-3 this fall. Freshman Lilly-Sophie Schmidt defeated Grace Anne Dunavant 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5) for her first win as a Blue Raider. The rest of the Raiders battled tough in three-set wars but fell just short.
