MT faces Big Ten foe, Iowa and rematch with Drake
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Coming off another remarkable win over a Big Ten team, Middle Tennessee men's tennis heads to Iowa for a pair of away matches against Iowa and Drake. The Blue Raiders will look to get its third win over a Big Ten foe on Friday vs Iowa, followed by a rematch with Drake on Sunday.

- The Blue Raiders won the 2019 Conference USA title, first time since entering C-USA in 2012.
- Middle Tennessee made an NCAA appearance last season for the first time since 2011.
- Head coach Jimmy Borendame is in his 10th season and has a record of 151-98 (.595)
- Three Blue Raiders enter the ITA rankings. Senior Max Rauch is ranked No. 121 in singles, while the sophomore duo of Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump jump up 28 spots to No. 20 in doubles. This is the highest ranking since Marco Born and Andreas Siljestrom had the No. 1 spot in 2007.
- The Raiders hot start is the best since 2011.
- In singles, the Raiders bolster a 39-9 record and 17-6 in doubles dual matches.

- Chris Edge leads the Raiders in wins with 14 in singles and doubles.

Scouting the Hawkeyes
- The series is tied, 1-1
- This is the 3rd meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Hawkeyes. In the last appearance, the Blue Raiders downed the Hawkeyes 6-1 at the Adams Tennis Complex.
- Iowa is 5-1 with wins over Western Washington (4-3), Creighton (5-2), Marquette (5-2), Omaha (6-1) and Drake (4-0). Lone loss came from Texas Tech (3-4).
- Last spring, the Hawkeyes went 18-10 and lost in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament to No. 35 Penn State (4-0).
- Kareem Allaf is ranked No. 53 in the latest ITA singles rankings and Will Davies/Oliver Okonkwo is ranked No. 10 in doubles.

Scouting the Bulldogs
- Raiders defeated the Bulldogs in the weekend sweep over Wichita State, Drake and Arkansas.
- This is the fourth meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Bulldogs. MT swept Drake in Fayetteville for a neutral match.
- Drake is 1-8 with the lone win coming over Western Michigan (4-3).
- Drake lost five seniors in 2019.
- Last spring, the Bulldogs went 19-14 and won the Summit League tournament to advance to the NCAA tournament against No. 24 California.
