Raiders stay perfect at home

MT wins its 16th straight home match
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team overpowered Indiana 4-2 in their 16th-straight win at home on Friday night at the Adams Tennis Complex.
The Raiders didn't start the way they expected. In doubles play, Indiana struck first to claim the doubles point with wins a No. 1 and 3 doubles.
In singles, the Blue Raiders bounced back with senior and No. 121 ranked Max Rauch notching the Raiders' first win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Patrick Fletchall to tie the match.
Sophomore Pavel Motl pushed the Raiders into the lead by defeating Vikash Singh in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. The sophomore boasts an undefeated record (6-0) in singles record.
Not letting off the gas, Francisco Rocha struck again with a win over freshman Luka Vukovic winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Advancing the Raiders lead to 3-1.
The Hoosiers responded by forcing a third set on Chris Edge giving them more time. Indiana's No. 93 ranked Bennett Crane topped senior Tom Moonen in a triple set 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. Cutting the lead to 3-2.
With two courts remaining, junior Chris Edge stepped up after winning the first set 6-3, Zac Brodney forced a third a second set tiebreak 7-6 (5) to force a third. Edge left room for error as he cruised for the clinching 6-1 third set.
The Blue Raiders now sport a 9-1 record and will get a break before going on the road for two in Iowa on Feb. 14 and 16.
