MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee head women's tennis coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall announced the addition of Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Liliana Danajlovski to the 2020 fall roster.
Lilly-Sohpie Schmidt comes to Middle Tennessee from Schriesheim, Germany and graduated from Tennisbase Hannover in cooperation with KGS Hemmingen. She is a national champion with KGS Hemmingen, including a 3rd and 7th place finish in finals and won an all-region championship in track and field.
"Lilly-Sophie's positive energy and perfectionist mentality is what I believe will make her a great asset to our team," Bailey-Duvall said. "Her work ethic will be contagious and that will help continue to propel our program forward to the next level."
Liliana Danajlovski hails from Bad Kreuznach, Germany and will join Middle Tennessee from Privat Gymnasium Weinheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. She placed 3rd at state in 2016 and 2019 and won the region championships in 2015 and 2016. Not only is she successful in tennis, she holds the long throw record at her high school.
"I am very much looking forward to working with Liliana," said Bailey-Duvall. "Her all court game style and willingness to learn and be her best is how I know she will fit into our team culture of hard-work and continued improvement. I know she will accomplish great things as a Blue Raider both on the court and off."
Schmidt and Danajlovski both enter a Middle Tennessee program that recently won six-straight matches before the season was cut short due to the concerns over COVID-19. They will join the Blue Raiders in the fall of 2020.
