Check out our interview with Miya:
How have you been doing during this tough time?
It has honestly been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. Some days are filled with productivity and motivation while others are filled with laziness and listlessness. With that being said, for the most part, I have been grateful for the time I get to spend with family.
Why did you decide to play at MT?
This question has always been a struggle for me. As cliche as it may sound, MT just felt right. The moment I stepped on campus and talked to coaches and teammates, I knew this was where I was supposed to be.
What has been your fondest memory here at MT and can you describe it?
Definitely anytime the team runs the 300s. Usually, during the run you're either the one supporting a lifeless body screaming words of encouragement into their ear or you are the lifeless body. This test has a cruel way of bringing the team together.
Have you learned any new skills or hobbies in this unique time?
I haven't learned any new skills or hobbies but I have learned the importance of intrinsic motivation and self-discipline.
What makes you enjoy MT as much as you do?
The people. I have met some amazing lifetime friends, who have brought so much love and joy into my life. There is so much community here.
