Blue Raiders Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete, Academic Team Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. – For the ninth time in program history, Middle Tennessee men's tennis has been named an ITA All-Academic Team, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday. The organization also named Brad Buckland, Chris Edge, Will Hann, Patrick Kristensen, Tom Moonen, Pavel Motl, Sean Presson, Max Rauch, Francisco Rocha, Stijn Slump and Daniel Stormon as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
This is the ninth time in the last 10 seasons that the Blue Raiders have earned the team honor, qualifying with a cumulative grade point average of 3.86. To be eligible for the award, teams must possess a combined GPA of at least 3.20.
Individually, Middle Tennessee picked up at least five honorees for the sixth-straight time in program history. Moonen and Rauch collected the accolade for the fourth time in their careers, while Edge, Motl, Rocha, Slump and Stormon each earned the distinction for the second time in their careers. Buckland, Hann, Kristensen and Presson reeled in their first accolade.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letterwinner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
