MURFREESBORO, TN – With the spring season cut short and a challenging offseason behind them, Middle Tennessee Men's Tennis head coach Jimmy Borendame announces the 2020 fall schedule.
The 2020 spring season didn't go as expected. Even with the uncertain times, Borendame and the Blue Raiders had a certainly successful season. Chris Edge became the first men's tennis athlete since David McNamara in 1998 to earn Player of the Year honors and Borendame earned his fifth Coach of the Year honors in back-to-back fashion. Coming off a 13-5 season with wins over four power five programs (Michigan State, Arkansas, Indiana and Auburn).
"We are thankful and grateful for the opportunity to play some matches this fall," Borendame said. "We are very lucky to have these opportunities. I'm just looking forward to competing again and knocking off some rust."
Raider's fall session will begin by hosting the annual Dale Short Shootout (Oct. 2-4) with ETSU, Troy and UTC coming to the Adams Tennis Complex. A week later, the Raiders will again host a newly created fall tournament called the Buck Bouldin Battle in the Boro. Mercer, UAB and South Alabama will make the trip to Murfreesboro.
Middle Tennessee will cap off its fall schedule with a trip to the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, MS. (Oct. 23-25).
