Conference USA returns to Fort Myers for sixth year
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Women's Golf is back to a full slate of tournament action this spring, with four tournaments on the schedule before the Blue Raiders head to the 2021 Conference USA Championship.
"We are very excited to be able to get back on the course this semester for a full schedule of spring tournaments," Head Coach Chris Adams said. "With the pandemic ongoing, we are very thankful that our team has avoided any setbacks and continues to stay healthy and ready to play."
Adams and her squad open the semester with a trip to the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, a three-day event hosted by Mercer at the Great Waters Course in Greensboro, Ga., on Feb. 19-21.
Middle Tennessee makes its second Birmingham trip of the season on March 15-16 to compete in the UAB Spring Invitational at Greystone Golf and Country Club, home of the SEC Women's Golf Championship.
The Chattanooga Invitational, played on March 29-30 at the Black Creek Club, will be MT's third destination of the spring season.
The Blue Raiders will then conclude the regular season with a second Mercer tournament, the Brickyard Collegiate at Brickyard Golf Club in Macon, on April 5-6.
"This schedule is a little different for us with three new events and the Brickyard being the only one we have competed in before," Adams added. "New events at Reynolds Lake Oconee – where the LPGA played last fall, Greystone and Black Creek have us very excited for the second half of the season."
The 2021 Conference USA Championship, held at the Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Fla., for the sixth consecutive year, will be played on April 19-21.
"We can't wait to be back at the Verandah Club, where we've played the conference championship for six years now, as well," Adams stated. "We love the facility and course there and it caps off a schedule that will provide us with strong competition at some awesome golf courses."
NCAA Women's Golf Regionals take place on May 10-12 with the 2021 sites hosted by LSU, Ohio State, Louisville and Stanford.
