Rhoden announces 2021 spring schedule

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee soccer has released its upcoming schedule for the 2021 spring season, head coach Aston Rhoden and the program announced on Friday.
The season gets underway on Jan. 29 with an exhibition versus Lipscomb at 6 p.m. The regular season will start on Feb. 11 as the Blue Raiders kick off a four-game home stretch with Lipscomb. From there, MT will host Bellarmine (Feb. 14), Vanderbilt (Feb. 21) and begin league play with rival WKU (Feb. 26).
On March 5, the Blue Raiders hit the road and take on Old Dominion at 7 p.m. at ODU Soccer Complex before a pair of home games versus Charlotte (March 12) and Ole Miss (March 20).
MT will then travel to Miami for a bout with the FIU Panthers on March 26 before returning home to host the other Florida counterpart FAU at 7 p.m. CT on April 2.
On April 8, Middle Tennessee will play hosts to the Marshall Thundering Herd for its final home game of the season at Dean A. Hayes Stadium in Murfreesboro.
Last season, the Blue Raiders finished with an overall record of 8-10-1, marking their third straight eight-win season. MT also went 5-4-1 in C-USA action to punch its ticket to the league championships for the fifth time since joining the conference.
Middle Tennessee returns 17 players, including reigning Conference USA Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year Peyton DePriest. She produced a career-high 18 goals in 2019.
The Blue Raiders also have 10 newcomers in the fold, giving Rhoden a deep squad.
Rice will host the 2021 Conference USA Tournament on April 13-17 in Houston.
