Lady Raiders fall to Kentucky, 7-0

LEXINGTON, KY – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team fell to Kentucky, 7-0 at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center on Thursday.
Kentucky (5-0) got off to a fast start, collecting the doubles point. UK took the doubles match on court one and three to send it to singles.
The pair of graduate Lidia Burrows and senior Lee Barnard battled tough but was left unfinished, down 4-2.
In singles play, UK quickly clinched the match with wins on courts one, two and four. The Lady Raiders put up a fight, forcing third sets on three courts.
Muskan Gupta started singles strong winning the first set for the Raiders but Carla Girbau would win the last two sets.
Zani Barnard battled on court four, but Fiona Arrese clinched the dual with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 win.
Love-Star Alexis also took a first set before Maialen Morante wrapped up the Kentucky sweep, 6-2, 4-6, 0-1.
Up next, the Lady Raiders take on ETSU Saturday at 11 a.m. CT in Johnson City, TN.
