Champaign, Ill. – The Blue Raiders competed at the Illini Invite on Saturday afternoon at the Atkins Tennis Center. Middle Tennessee was joined by Arizona State, Illinois and Tennessee in a hidden dual format, no team score was recorded.

Middle Tennessee picked up four singles victories this afternoon. Senior, Chris Edge picked up an impressive win over Tennessee's nationally-ranked Martim Prata. Edge worked both sides of the court downing Prata in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6. Oskar Brostrom Poulsen dropped Arizona State's Nicola Cigna, 6-4, 6-4. Pavel Motl made quick work of Jacob Bullard, 6-3, 6-3. Nationally-ranked Stijn Slump picked up another fall win over Christian Lerby of ASU, 4-6, 7-6, 3-0. Bernardi, Chin, Holis, Olivier, and Rocha fell in their respective matches.

Doubles play highlighted the day for the Blue Raiders taking three out of the four matches today. The tandems of Edge/Motl and Rocha/Brostrom Poulsen topped two Arizona State duos. Chin and Holis fought off Illinois' Horve and Meister, 7-5. Bernardi and Slump fell short in their match, 6-7(4).

Middle Tennessee will face off with Illinois (TBA) on Sunday. There will be live streaming and scoring.
