Hollister, Mo. – Middle Tennessee women's golf stumbled on the second day of the Ozarks National Invitational on Tuesday at Ozarks National Golf Course but remained in fourth place through 36 holes. The Blue Raiders went from 3-over after one round to 18-over after two, but the rest of the field faced similar struggles, keeping MT in fourth place.
Caroline Caudill and Molly Bebelaar lead the way for MT individually after ending the second day of play in a tie for 10th at 147 (+3). Caudill was second on the team with four birdies Tuesday. Bebelaar's 75 (+3) was the Blue Raiders' second-lowest round of the day.
Catherine Caudill ended Tuesday's play in the top 20 herself, tied for 19th at 149 (+5). She birdied four of her final six holes on the day to finish at 74 (+2) for the round to pace the team. Sophie Burks and Taylor Edlin round out the lineup in a tie for 28th at 152 (+8).
Playing as an individual, Madison Smith heads into the third round tied for 14th at 148 (+4).
Oral Roberts leads the tournament at 572 (-4). The Blue Raiders sit 22 strokes back at 594 (+18).
COACH ADAMS ON AN UP-AND-DOWN ROUND
"Started a little slow this morning in some colder temps, but we finished pretty good in some windy conditions," head coach Chris Adams said, "but we still just had some mistakes we have to clean up. Catherine had a strong finish with birdies on four of her last six holes to finish at 74. We had some solid rounds by Madison, Caroline and Molly, but overall we can still have a strong finish tomorrow and look to move up."
