Middle Tennessee Women's Golf adds a player with a winning pedigree in Lanie Campbell, who has signed a National Letter of Intent. Campbell, a native of Ethridge, Tenn., has led Summertown High School to four state championships while finishing in the top 10 of the state tournament each time.
"We are beyond excited about Lanie joining our program," head coach Chris Adams said. "She comes from a great high school team with a lot of success and a very supportive and competitive family."
Campbell posted a scoring average of 71.2 during the 2021 season. She also finished in the top two in all tournaments she played in 2020. A three-time All-State selection, she was the 2021 TGA High School Invitational Champion and finished third in the 2021 Sneds Tournament of Champions.
"Lanie has already shown to be a great player and has a huge upside in her game, which will be highlighted when gets to this level on longer courses," Adams said. "I know with her work ethic and commitment, she will have an immediate impact here."
In addition to leading Summertown to four state titles, Campbell also helped her team to four region tournament championships and four district tournament titles while playing for her father, Jon Campbell.
Campbell comes from an athletic family, as both her parents were collegiate athletes. Her father, Jon, played golf, and her mother Stacie, played basketball at UT Southern. She will join the Blue Raiders in 2022.
