Volleyball Returns Home to Host Old Dominion

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team returns to Alumni Memorial Gym for a weekend matchup against Old Dominion Sunday, Feb. 21, and Monday, Feb. 22. Sunday's match can be seen on ESPN3, while Monday's match will be streamed on CUSA.TV.
Match 4 & 5: Middle Tennessee (0-3, 0-1) vs. Old Dominion (3-2, 1-1)
- Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021 – 1:00 pm CT
- Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 – 1:00 pm CT

About the Blue Raiders
- The Blue Raiders dropped a competitive five-set battle against Florida Atlantic this past Sunday. Kayla Henley earned the fifth double-double of her career (12 kills, 11 digs), while Amelia Van Der Werff posted her second straight double-digit kill performance with 14 kills while hitting a combined .357.
- Taylor Eisert collected 43 assists, the first time in her young career, she has earned 40 plus assists.
- Amelia Van Der Werff continues to lead Middle Tennessee in kills with 29. She currently ranks 26th in the nation in hitting percentage with a .431 clip
All-Time vs. Old Dominion
- This will be the first-ever matchup between Middle Tennessee and Old Dominion. This is the first season in program history for the Monarchs.
- The Blue Raiders are 3-4 in C-USA home openers
Scouting the Monarchs
- Old Dominion opened C-USA play at FIU on Feb. 8-9. The Monarchs dropped the first match 3-0 before taking the match 3-1 on Feb. 9.
- Alessia Sgherza leads the Old Dominion offense, averaging 3.61 kills per set. Sgherza had a solid weekend totaling 7 and 18 kills, respectively, against FIU on Feb. 8-9.
- Jordan Daniel has played every set as libero for the Monarchs, averaging 3.22 digs per set.
