Blue Raiders Host Rival WKU in C-USA Opener

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's soccer is set to open Conference USA play Friday when it hosts rival WKU (1-1). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium, and the contest will be live-streamed on CUSA.tv.
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders fell 4-0 in an exhibition match versus Vanderbilt on Monday. Goalkeeper Hannah Suder played a great game in the net in the first half making seven saves to keep it scoreless at halftime. In the second half, the Commodore offense would turn up the heat as they would score three goals in 10 minutes to seal the game.
Atop the Record Books
As a junior in 2019, Peyton DePriest set the program record for career goals scored. With a full season yet to play, the forward currently sits atop the Blue Raiders record books with 42 goals and a career shot percentage of .252, and she set the single-season mark for goals per game in 2019 with 1.07.
Series History
Friday will be the 21st meeting between the programs, as both teams have a record of 7-7-6 all-time in the series.
In 2019, WKU traveled to Murfreesboro on Sept. 1 as the Blue Raiders dropped a 1-0 decision. It was the first time since 2011 that the Hilltoppers have defeated the Blue Raiders at home.
Scouting the Hilltoppers
The Hilltoppers were in action last Saturday as they downed Southern Illinois 4-0. Annah Hopkins led the way with two goals. Goalkeeper Ashley Kobylinski earned the win and made four saves.

Goalkeepers Ashley Kobylinski and Afton Schraml have split time in the two games the Hilltoppers have played. Schraml started in goal in the first game against North Alabama, where she allowed four goals in the loss. Kobylinski started in the Hilltopper's last match versus Southern Illinois and pitched the shutout in the 4-0 win.
