Hayes sisters named All-Conference USA

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee guards Anastasia Hayes and Aislynn Hayes have been voted to the 2020-21 All-Conference USA team the league office announced Monday.
The team is voted on by the 14 conference head coaches and media members who cover C-USA.
Anastasia Hayes was named to the league's eight-player first team for the second straight season after turning in a remarkable regular season that includes leading the nation in scoring.
Aislynn Hayes, the 2019-20 C-USA Freshman of the Year, has followed up her breakout rookie campaign with a solid sophomore season that earned her recognition on the eight-person second team.
"I'm pleased for (Anastasia and Aislynn) to be named to the all-conference team," Lady Raider Head Coach Rick Insell said. "That is quite an honor. We have 14 teams in our league and there are several quality players throughout the conference so to be honored as two of the best is a noteworthy achievement."
Anastasia Hayes led C-USA in scoring (26.7) and steals (2.8). She is second in assists with 4.9 per outing. Her gaudy 26.8 scoring average is second nationally.
Anastasia Hayes scored 20-plus points in 18 of 21 games, including a career-high 42 in an overtime win at UAB. The junior guard is also among the nation's leaders for free throw attempts, free throws made, field goals made, steals and assists.
Aislynn Hayes increased her scoring average from 14.1 ppg as a freshman to 14.3 in her sophomore season. The sophomore standout is second on the Lady Raiders in scoring rebounding, assists and steals
Aislynn Hayes has scored in every game of her collegiate career, including double figures in 36 of 47. She has totaled 13 double-figure scoring games this season. She leads the nation in minutes per game (39.37) and is among C-USA leaders for assists, 3-point field goals made, rebounds and defensive rebounds.
