Raiders Fall to #37 Rice in C-USA Quarterfinals

DENTON, Texas – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team saw its season come to an end, Friday morning, falling to #37 Rice, 4-0, in the Conference USA Quarterfinals.
The Raiders finish the season 11-12 overall while the Owls improve to 15-5 and will the play the winner of Marshall and FIU in the semifinals.
After Rice took the doubles point, the Blue Raiders could not get anything going in singles as they dropped matches at No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6, in straight sets, giving the Owls the victory.
Lidia Burrows won her first set in a tiebreak, 7-3, but her match went unfinished in the second. Lee Barnard dropped her first set, but was up 5-4 in the second when her match went unfinished as well.
