MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Blue Raider senior Sophie Burks has collected All-Conference USA honors for the third consecutive year as she was named to the league's Third Team on Wednesday.
Burks led Middle Tennessee in stroke average (75.0), rounds of par or better (9), low round (68) and low 54-hole total (210) during the 2020-21 season.
The Montgomery, Ala., native logged a Top 5 finish with a 2-under par 210 – the fourth lowest 54-hole total in program history – at the Callaway Gardens Invite and was named C-USA Golfer of the Week on Oct. 15 after a Top 10 finish at the Lady Red Wolves Classic.
"Sophie puts in the work it takes to be one of the best in this league every single day and is very deserving of being recognized as such," Head Coach Chris Adams stated. "Conference USA gets better and better every year and is ranked as high as it ever has nationally, so to make the cut as one of the best is an incredible honor."
Burks was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team last week for the second time in her career and also earned All-Conference USA Third Team honors in 2019 and 2020.
Her career stroke average of 74.85 ranks third in Blue Raider history, while her 20 career rounds of par or better are sixth all-time at Middle Tennessee.
"Sophie has already had an outstanding collegiate career as a Blue Raider, and we are thrilled to see her add to that career when she returns next season for her fifth year," Adams added.
