Track & Field Wins Six Titles on Second Day of Hilltopper Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Middle Tennessee track and field team concluded competition at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday. The Blue Raiders collected 19 podium finishes and eight gold-medal honors overall.
Jumps
Esther Isa used a 12.81m jump to claim the women's triple jump title. Akera Benton would take the silver with an 11.95m jump.
Throws
Regina Yeboah finished 11th in the women's javelin with a throw of 23.72 meters.
Sprints
In the women's 100m, Cecilia Francis recorded a gold-medal finish, clocking in at 11.66. On the men's side, Courtland Jordan ran an 11.55 to finish seventh.
In the women's 200m, Amarachukwu Obi captured the title with a career-best 23.23. Cecilia Francis finished fourth with 24.56, while Dorcas Gyimah ran a 25.11 to finish seventh. Ida Mensah ended with a 33rd place finish.
Jaquez Torian took home the bronze in the men's 200m with a time of 21.67. Matthew Stewart finished fourth (22.06), Nickson Pierre finished fifth (22.07), and Michael Fuqua finished the race sixth (22.24).
In the women's 400m, Eusila Chepkemei earned the silver with a time of 56.97. Patience Akanwogba took the bronze with a 57.79 run.
Middle Tennessee posted three of the top four times in the men's 400m. Jaquez Torian captured the gold with a time of 47.37. Matthew Stewart (49.13) and Nickson Pierre (49.49) took home second-place and fourth-place finishes, respectively. Teammate Michael Fuqua finished fifth with a 50.01 mark, while Brian Rono finished seventh for the Blue Raiders with a 50.69 mark.
Middle Distance
In the women's 800m Francisca Jebor notched a silver-medal finish, clocking in at 2:15.17. Quanisha Marshall finished 18th while Regina Yeboah finished in 30th place.
Kigen Chemadi ran a 1:54.71 to take home the bronze in the men's 800m. Teammates Stephen Mengich and Jacob Choge finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
Joice Jebor was crowned women's 1500-meter champion with a time of 4:33.30. Mercy Chepkurui took silver with a time of 4:34.04. Faith Rono earned the fifth-place finish with a 4:36.56 mark.
Kigen Chemadi took the men's 1500m title with a 3:50.36 finish. Stephen Mengich finished fourth (3:54.39), Lebo Mosito finished fifth (3:55.96), and Jacob Choge finished the race sixth (3:56.25).
Hurdles
Glory Nyenke recorded a bronze-medal finish in the women's 400m hurdles, clocking in at 1:02.37.
Relays
The Blue Raider women's 4x100m relay finished second with a time of 47.14. In the men's 4x100m relay, Middle Tennessee recorded a time of 42.26 to finish second.

The track and field team will compete at the Tennessee Relays April 8-10 at the Tom Black Track at Laporte Stadium.

The Blue Raider women's 4x100m relay finished second with a time of 47.14. In the men's 4x100m relay, Middle Tennessee recorded a time of 42.26 to finish second.
