MACON, Ga. – Another high round saw Middle Tennessee cross the finish line Tuesday at the Brickyard Collegiate in 12th place, just where it started the day.
The Blue Raiders posted a round of 31-over par 319 on day two and concluded the tournament 88-over (322-311-319=952) thru 54 holes.
Sophomore Taylor Edlin claimed the best score for the Blue Raiders despite posting her highest round of the week, earning a Top 30 spot at 16-over par (76-75-81=232).
Senior Sophie Burks matched Edlin's 54-hole score of 16-over par (77-75-80=232) to also earn a share of 26th place in the field of 81 golfers.
Sisters Caroline and Catherine Caudill each finished the event 24-over par and tied for 51st. Molly Bebelaar (+28) and Madison Smith (+30) closed out the scoring for the Blue Raiders on the week.
Middle Tennessee split the week with its two Conference USA opponents in the field, edging out UAB (+91) by three strokes while finishing 21 strokes back of Florida Atlantic (+67).
"The course was really tough for us this week, and we just didn't manage it very well," Head Coach Chris Adams said. "Taylor and Sophie were able to have decent performances, but we all have to be better than we were this week.
"We'll have to work really hard at re-focusing and getting back to our best game if we want to compete at conference."
With the regular season now complete, the Blue Raiders return home looking to make some quick improvements before flying to South Florida for the Conference USA Championship (April 19-21).
