Choge Named Men's Track Performer of the Meet

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Senior standout Jacob Choge was named Conference USA Men's Track Performer of the Meet for his stellar performance at the outdoor conference championships last weekend, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
"He's been a really good competitor and has won a number of championships. He deserves this honor," said Head Coach Dean Hayes.
The Eldoret, Kenya, native competed in all four distance running events at the championships – 800m, 1500m, 5000m, and the 10K – and garnered gold medals in the 1500m and 10K.
Choge was the male high point scorer earning 36 individual points overall in the championship meet. He took first in the men's 10K with a C-USA Outdoor Championship record time of 28:58.29. He also won gold in the 1,500m and won silver in the 800m and 5,000m to round out the weekend.
