MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Following the cancellation of this year's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival due to heavy rain in the mid-state area, Middle Tennessee is offering all Bonnaroo ticket holders for this year's festival free entry to Saturday's season opening football game against Monmouth.
Bonnaroo ticket holders can show their Bonnaroo tickets at either box office located at Gates 1, 3 and 4 the day of the game to receive reserved seat tickets while supplies last. Fans can enjoy many of the game day amenities around Floyd Stadium, including tailgating in the Grove, the Family Fun Zone, and the Blue Raider Beer Garden located in the south end zone for guests age 21 and older.
"Our athletic department hurts for our friends in the Middle Tennessee community because of this setback," director of athletics Chris Massaro said. "MTSU has a long history of the university and its alumni supporting Bonnaroo every year, both as guests and in its operation, and we hope that this offer to come to our campus and enjoy some Blue Raider football this Saturday can help those affected make the best out of an unfortunate circumstance."
The 2021 Bonnaroo festival was scheduled to be held from Thursday, September 2 through Sunday, September 5 in Manchester, Tenn., just 36 miles southeast from MTSU's campus. First held in 2002, the festival regularly draws artists from across the music industry, and students in the MTSU College of Media and Entertainment regularly assist with the event's production.
