The Blue Raiders (3-2-1) earned their second-straight victory over the Huskies (0-5). Middle Tennessee outshot Houston Baptist 17-14, while the clubs tied for shots on target with five apiece.
Junior Hannah Suder recorded all 90 minutes in net for the Blue Raiders, recording a game-high four saves. The Huskies' keeper, Karla Ramierez also played all 90 minutes in net for HBU and tallied two saves in the contest.
Middle Tennessee wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with sophomore Taylor Hamlett opening the scoring in the second minute. Senior Sam DeBien drove into the 6-yard box before delivering an absolute dime to Hamlett, who knocked in her second career goal and second of the year for the 1-0 lead.

Moments later, Sam DeBien netted Middle Tennessee's second goal of the game in the sixth minute of play to give the Blue Raiders the 2-0 advantage. Miya Lennon placed a throw in at the feet of DePriest, who delivered a perfectly placed ball near the penalty mark to DeBien, who drilled in the ball to the right side of the net past the Huskies' keeper.

The Huskies were able to bring the game back within a score after netting a penalty kick in the 25th minute to cut the Blue Raiders lead to 2-1.
The Blue Raiders outshot the Huskies 4-1 over the final twenty minutes of play before taking their 2-1 advantage into the halftime break.
DePriest's third attempt in the 67th minute of the second half proved to be one of the biggest scores of No. 12's career and rewrote the C-USA record books as she became the all-time leader in career goals scored in the 26-year history of Conference USA. Freshman Kirstine Lykke handed off the ball to DePriest who took it from the half-way line to beat the last Husky defender and power the ball past the HBU keeper into the right bottom of the net and extend the Blue Raiders lead to 3-1.
