Malashka named C-USA Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's basketball redshirt junior forward Kseniya Malashka was named Conference USA Player of the Week.

After playing a critical role in the Lady Raiders' weekend sweep of Rice and North Texas, Malashka became the first Blue Raider to be recognized as C-USA Women's Basketball Player of the Week this season.

Malashka, a native of Minsk, Belarus, started her first game as a Blue Raider in MT's 87-63 win over Rice Jan. 7. Malashka led all scorers with 23 points, grabbed four rebounds and blocked four shots in the win.

Malashka then came off the bench and finished with 12 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Middle Tennessee's 80-52 win over North Texas Jan. 9. Ten of her 12 points came in the second half.

C-USA Player of the Week awards are presented by Surf & Turf and are voted on by the conference's women's basketball communications directors.
