MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Caroline Manley and Jennifer Francis have both been named to the 2022 Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Second Team. The pair of senior defenders have shown excellence and leadership on the field and in the classroom to earn the accolades.
Manley—a biochemistry major—has been instrumental for the Blue Raiders across her four-year career in Murfreesboro. The Arlington, Tenn. native has played and started in all 60 career matches since her freshman season in 2019. Manley has also played 4,406 consecutive minutes across 48 matches dating back to late in the '19 campaign. The three-year captain earned both United Soccer Coaches All-South Region and C-USA All-Tournament Team honors last season for her superb play.
Meanwhile, Francis is the first soccer student-athlete to go through the academic nursing program. The defender from Norcross, Ga. has participated in all 16 matches this year and 49 across her career, with five starts in 2022.
Conference USA tabbed 22 student-athletes to its 2022 C-USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams Friday morning. Ten schools are represented with Rice, UAB, UTSA and WKU each having three student athletes earn sports on the lists, while Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, LA Tech, Middle Tennessee and UTEP are highlighted as well.
