MTSU Fairs Well at NCAA South Regionals

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Blue Raider men's and women's cross-country teams competed Friday morning at the NCAA South Regionals held in Huntsville at the John Hunt Cross Country Course. The women finished in ninth and the men had a couple of top-30 finishes.
The women took ninth as a team on Friday, placing ahead of six top-15 teams in the South region. Freshman Agnes Chepkurui led the way in just her second meet with the Blue Raiders, placing 48th with a personal-best time of 21:05.1.
On the men's side, only three runners were brought to Huntsville, and all three delivered with personal-best times. Senior Hillary Kimaiyo led the way with a time of 29:56.4 in 13th place, a three spot improvement from his finish at last year's regionals. Senior Habtamu Geta and junior Koos Molutsi took 26th and 33rd with times of 30:28.8 and 30:46.5 respectively.
