Middle Tennessee Baseball has finalized its 2022 signing class. Every week, goblueraiders.com will take a closer look at each future Blue Raider. This week's spotlight is on Chandler Alderman.
Chandler Alderman - LHP
6-4 | 220
Poplar Grove, Ill.
The southpaw was a force during his junior year, setting a new single-season school record at North Boone High School by fanning 96 batters. Alderman finished with an ERA of 2.69 and batted .459 at the plate to earn First Team All-Conference nods.
A multi-sport athlete, Alderman also has been a standout on the gridiron. The two-time all-area quarterback threw for a combined 3,192 yards with 43 TDs during his junior and senior seasons.
Alderman made the Perfect Game all-tournament team in both 2019 and 2021 and has pitched for Chicago Scout Association and GRB Illinois. The son of Kevin and Angie and brother to Marlee, Chandler Alderman plans to major in business at MTSU.
"Chandler has a great frame and arm action that will greatly enhance his development as well-rounded pitcher," Middle Tennessee Head Coach Jerry Meyers said. "He is a very competitive individual and a leader that has excelled as a two-sport athlete throughout his career.
"Chandler also helps us meet our need to add left-handed pitching to our future roster and we are confident he will continue to get better every year. We are excited to have him join our Blue Raider Baseball family!"
