MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Head Coach Aston Rhoden put the final touches on his 2022 coaching staff on Tuesday with the addition of assistant coach Hannah Hoefs.
Hoefs joins the Blue Raiders after from Shenandoah University, where she coached for a year and a half during two different stints with the Hornets.
Hoefs most recently started her second stint on Liz Pike's staff at Shenandoah after having rejoined the staff in December 2021. Hoefs was the Hornets' primary recruiter, working to organize travel for coaches, developing recruiting schedules, conducting campus visits, and facilitating communication with recruits.
Prior to rejoining the Hornets' staff, Hoefs coached the fall 2021 season from July to November at Mount St. Mary's working primarily with the midfield and forwards.
Hoefs began her collegiate coaching career when she first joined the coaching staff at Shenandoah in June 2020 following her standout career as a midfielder at Loyola University of Maryland.
As a Greyhound, Hoefs' impressive senior campaign earned her Patriot League Midfielder of the Year honors after leading the league in goals scored and points. Hoefs was also recognized as All-Region, becoming the first Greyhound since the 2015 season to earn all-region second team honors, in addition to being named All-Patriot League First Team and Patriot League All-Tournament Team. Hoefs was also a 2018 All-Patriot League selection after leading the Greyhounds in goals and assists during her junior campaign.
In addition to her collegiate experience, Hoefs has also served in numerous youth coaching capacities.
Hoefs, a New Market, Maryland native, graduated with her bachelor's degree in communications and journalism from Loyola University (Md.) in 2020.
