MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Fans returning to Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium on Saturday (Sept. 17) for Middle Tennessee's football season opener will discover an expanded Blue Raider Beer Garden that will feature canned and draft craft beers from multiple Murfreesboro breweries.
Back in the south end zone and first introduced in 2019, the signature on-field viewing and entertainment area will feature offerings for purchase from Cedar Glades Brews, Mayday and Hop Springs Beer Park this season, as well as other popular beers and seltzers.
Fans in the beer garden for Saturday's game will have canned beers available for purchase, which they can enjoy underneath the umbrellas and tables in the endzone alongside games like corn hole and giant jenga. The Beer Garden opens with the gates to the stadium and will serve through the end of the third quarter. Entrance is free to fans 21 and up with their admission ticket to the game.
Also, at a serving station below the south end zone scoreboard dubbed "The Local Tap," fans can purchase special-label, small-batch draft beer, brewed by Cedar Glade Brews and themed to each week's opponent. Patrons go back and forth from The Local Tap to the Beer Garden area on the field.
Canned offerings of our partner's craft beers will also be available in concession stands throughout Floyd Stadium.
"Our partnership with these three local craft breweries is a tremendous enhancement to this fan-favorite location on our field," said Director of Athletics Chris Massaro. "We're pleased also to offer a selection of canned beers, which will speed up our customer service, and that we're still retaining our popular tradition of offering a special draft selection brewed especially for each game."
Watch social media for video highlight ahead of each home game for a featured brew from of our local brewery partners for each home game.
Also returning after a successful 2019 debut is the Family Fun Zone, located behind Sections 1A-3A. Featuring inflatables, face painting, balloon animals and various carnival games throughout the season, the Family Fun Zone will also serve as the check-in for the Blue Raider Kids' Club. The Blue Raiders are also excited to welcome families to full tailgating around campus. Raider Walk at Walnut Grove returns at 3:45 p.m. Saturday with the Band of Blue accompanying Coach Rick Stockstill's team as they march toward Floyd Stadium ahead of the 6 p.m. kickoff against Tennessee State University. And, to celebrate the home season opener, MTSU will have a post-game fireworks show.
Season ticket packages as well as single game tickets are still available to those wishing to enjoy all of the game day traditions of Blue Raider football. Fans can order online at GoBlueRaiders.com/tickets or by calling the ticket office at 615-898-5261.
