Blue Raiders tally 11 wins at day one of the ITA Regional Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee men's tennis earned 11 victories in day one of the ITA Regional Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In doubles, the Blue Raiders went four-for-four. Ondrej Horak and Marcel Kamrowski started the day off with an 8-3 win over Collado and Ushzima of Lipscomb. Karim Al-Amin and Igor Mandou Berranger picked up an 8-7 (7) victory against Tennessee's Apltauer and Newton. Javier Cueto Ramos and Leo Raquin defeated Alvarez and Bitzer of Tennessee Tech 8-3. Demis Taramonlis and Kristian Thomas tallied an 8-5 victory over EKU's Mayer and Brazet.
In singles, MTSU won seven of the eight matches. Kamrowski earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Dayton's McNally. Horak defeated Ball State's Fletcher 6-4, 6-4. Mandou Berranger tallied a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Lombisano of Lipscomb. Raquin picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win against Lipscomb's Ushizima. Cueto Ramos defeated Sardo of Belmont 7-5, 6-3. Al-Amin won 7-6 (4), 6-3 against Villanger of Purdue. Taramonlis capped off the day with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Ball State's Mason Tran.
