Men’s and Women’s team both finish fourth in Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Middle Tennessee men's and women's cross country teams both placed fourth in the team standings on Friday morning in the Crimson Classic, the Blue Raiders' last regular season race of the 2023 season.
In the men's race the Blue Raiders placed two runners in the top-five: Vincent Yegon and Brian Kiptoo took fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the men's race, the Blue Raiders were led by Yegon who with a time of 23:46.70s and Kiptoo with a time of 23:47.80s.
The Blue Raiders finished in fourth place with a team score of 128 out of 21 total teams. Only Alabama, Belmont and Georgia outscored MTSU.
The women's cross country team was led by Purity Sanga and Faith Nyathi in their fourth-place team finish at the Crimson Classic out of 24 total teams. The team scored 175 points, finishing behind only Alabama, Auburn and Belmont.
Sanga ran a time of 19:35.30s for a sixth-place finish individually. Nyathi was close behind running a 20:29.20s time to finish ninth.
