Four Blue Raiders Earn Conference USA All-Academic Honors

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Four Middle Tennessee Soccer student-athletes have been named to the Conference USA All-Academic teams Friday.
Sascha Nielsen received First Team accolades, while Hannah Suder, Idun Kvaale and Manon Lebargy were tapped to the Second Team. All four honorees carry 4.0 GPAs.
2023 marks the first time four Blue Raiders have made the league's All-Academic teams since 2018. This season is also tied for having the most All-Academic recipients since joining CUSA.
Nielsen is perusing a Psychology degree. The junior from Abyskov, Denmark has played in all 17 matches to date this season, starting in 14 fixtures. The midfielder scored at New Mexico State Sept. 24 while tallying an assist against Cleveland State Sept. 3.
Suder enters the regular season finale Friday in the top 10 of numerous program goalkeeping records, including being fourth in career saves (234), fourth in games started (60), third in games played (65) and third in minutes played (5,510:32). The fifth-year goalkeeper from Jacksonville, Fla. is working toward a master's degree in Criminal Justice.
Kvaale has started each match at forward, and has assists in fixtures against Louisiana, Chicago State and Sam Houston. The sophomore and Molde, Norway native's first career goal came Sept. 3 vs. Cleveland State. Kvaale is majoring in Industrial & Organizational Psychology.
Lebargy leads the team with seven goals this season, with a pair of braces against Lipscomb and Chicago State. The native of Lille, France is tied for third in CUSA in goals, and is third in points with 17. The sophomore midfielder has played in each match this year, and is studying Commerce.
MTSU concludes the 2023 campaign Friday night against FIU at Dean A. Hayes Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
