Blue Raiders finish sixth at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kendall Maynard led the way this week, tying for 11th as Middle Tennessee women's golf finished sixth at Kansas State's Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational. On a second consecutive blustery day, the Blue Raiders combined for a third-round score of 308 (+20) in Tuesday's third round for a 54-hole score of 912 (+48).
Maynard finished the tournament at 223 (+7) after shooting a 76 (+4) Tuesday. She was 4-over through her first seven holes but played even-par the rest of the way.
Playing as an individual, Lanie Campbell shot the Blue Raiders' best round of the day Tuesday. She picked up three birdies on her way to a 75 (+3) and ended the event tied for 28th at 230 (+14).
Abbie Lee tied for 34th with a score of 232 (+16) after carding a 77 (+5) Tuesday. Her 11 pars were a team high for the third round.
Molly Bebelaar and Nicole Johnson tied for 37th at 233 (+17). Bebelaar carded a 76 (+4) in the third round, while Johnson notched an 83 (+11).
Ella Manley tied for 39th at 234 (+18) after a third-round score of 79 (+7) Tuesday.
By the Numbers
10 - Maynard led the Blue Raiders with 10 birdies in the tournament.
-4 - Manley was 4-under on par 5 holes, the lowest mark in the tournament.
7 - MTSU finished the tournament with four of the seven eagles recorded in the tournament.

"Tough day out there on the course with the gusty winds. Kendall had a pretty good tourney finishing 11th. We only have a couple of days to prepare for New Mexico State, so we are going to get home and practice hard for two days to get ready."
